Getting a script in
Script import works by pasting text. There is no file upload yet, and no
.fdx or Fountain parser: the importer reads plain text and looks for the shape
of a screenplay in it.
From Final Draft
File → Export → Text, then paste the result. The same route works from Celtx, WriterDuet and anything else that can produce a plain text version.
From a PDF
Open it, select all, copy, paste. Formatting will arrive untidy and it does not matter: detection is forgiving, and everything is editable after import.
What it needs to see
Sluglines. EXT. GARDEN. DAY on its own line is enough. Everything between two
sluglines is treated as one scene.
Your script
It is read once to find the scenes and suggest a shot count. The text then lives in your project's script view and nowhere else. It is not used for anything other than your board.
