Crew links and the editor's bible
Both come from Share the day in On Set, and from the button at the foot of the wrap. Neither needs an account at the other end, and neither can be commented on, approved or downloaded: they are read-only by construction, not by a setting somebody could leave switched on.
A link is shown once, when you make it, because it is only ever stored scrambled. Making one and copying it are the same gesture.
The crew link
Today's list, view only. The setups in shooting order, the shots inside them with their frame, size, lens and status, the anchors of the day, and a Now and Next card so anybody can see where the unit is.
It carries no notes of any kind, and no pickup reasons. Nothing on it would matter if it were read over a shoulder.
It expires by itself after a day, because a crew list that outlives its day is a leak waiting to happen. An expired one can be extended for another 24 hours from the same panel.
The editor's bible
The whole record, and it lives as long as the edit does. Every day, every shot with its approved frame, the takes with their roll and card, which take was circled, the director's notes, the pickup reasons, the shoot notes, what was added on the day, and the continuity photographs.
It is born without an expiry, because an edit takes weeks and re-sending a link is the sort of admin nobody does.
The page has its own search across shots, takes, rolls and cards, filters for circled takes, pickups and partials and changed from the board, and a Copy take list button for editors who live in email. Ticking a shot as placed in the cut is kept on that editor's own device and reaches nobody else.
What it never carries: your private notes, your client notes, your production notes, and the board's location, cast, equipment and priority fields.
Scope, chosen once
On a project with more than one board you choose, when you make either link, between the whole day, meaning every board on the project, and a single named board. The whole-day scope includes boards added later, and always shows the newest version. The scope cannot be changed afterwards: make a second link if you need a different one.
Turning one off
Turn off stops a link immediately, and it cannot be brought back. Make a new one instead. Each row shows when it was made and how many times it has been opened.
If the subscription lapses, both links stop opening until it is reactivated, then resume unchanged.
