Frame ratios explained
The frame ratio is a per-project setting, chosen when you create the project, and every surface adapts to it: the board grid, the client page and the PDF layouts.
Which one?
- 16:9, broadcast, YouTube, most commercial work. The default, for a reason.
- 9:16, reels, TikTok and stories. The board becomes a vertical filmstrip, and the PDF changes shape to suit it.
- 2.39:1, cinematic widescreen, for films and spots that want the look.
- 4:3 and 1:1, animation, archive looks, square social.
One project, one ratio, and that is deliberate. Cutdowns in another shape (the 9:16 versions of a 16:9 spot) work best as their own small project.
